My strengths include research and eagerness for knowledge. Therefore, I am always happy to acquaint myself quickly with new topics.

Some subject areas I have already worked on, especially at University, are the following:

✓ medicine,

✓ economics,

✓ law,

✓ politics,

✓ environment,

✓ tourism.

Field of study Translation

During my translation studies, I learned how to translate texts of all kinds, for example, contracts, documents, legal texts, articles from journals and newspapers, brochures, literature, websites and film subtitling. Furthermore, translation theories and the use of CAT-tools were part of this study programme.

My diploma theses is based on the topic dialects and dubbing. In brief, I examined the German dubbing of the Neapolitan dialect in the Italian comedy movie “Benvenuti al sud“.

Field of study Interpreting

The field of study Interpreting was mainly divided into simultaneous and consecutive interpreting. The teaching material included topical speeches by politicians or experts as well as speeches written by students and lecturers. Among others, I interpreted at simulation conferences at the Institute for Translation and Interpreting in Innsbruck and I participated in an excursion to the European Institutions in Brussels. Moreover, I attended additional classes to further improve my rhetorical skills.

My diploma theses gives an answer to the following question: “what should an interpreter know about Austria?” It is a concise overview of Austria’s political system, geography, media landscape, economy and its recent history.
